Naruto Goes PSP The anime, not the game.
Date: 4/4/2005
Naruto is big business when it comes to games (several Naruto games have already been released or announced - including an upcoming PSP game, our guess being a 3D fighter), but how well will the animation do when released as is on a popular game system? Aniplex is hoping to find out as it brings Naruto, the movie, to the PSP UMD format. Announced at this weekend's Tokyo animation show, the PSP version will see release alongside its DVD counterpart on 4/28 carrying the same price tag of 4,935 yen. ?
Those picking up the UMD version will get some bonuses. Totaling 125 minutes, the UMD will include, in addition to the movie, promotion videos, trailers, commercials, a no-credit ending and a special feature on the conversion to the DVD format. This is the same content that's being included with the DVD version. The UMD version will, like the DVD version, include a special art book, but it won't come with the special figure that will be included with the first run of the DVD version.
So it looks like we'll have a true test of DVD versus PSP later this month. Which one will come out on top in the anime world?
