Takahashi Debuts Shonen Sunday New Viz Imprint

Rin-Ne, superstar manga-ka Rumiko Takahashi?s new manga, will be the first title to be released under Shonen Sunday, a new Viz Media imprint. Rin-Ne Vol. 1 will street October 20th at $9.99. Rin-Ne has been serialized online here in the States (see ?New Takahashi Manga to Debut on Web?) on the same schedule as the installments have been released in Shonen Sunday in Japan.



The new Shonen Sunday imprint will feature work that appeared in Japan in the venerable magazine of the same name. Viz will transfer a number of titles, including Inuyasha, Kekkaishi, Case Closed, Hayate the Combat Butler, and Yakitate!! Japan, to the new imprint. Additional new series to be released under the imprint will be announced at Comic-Con.



The Shonen Sunday manga anthology in Japan recently celebrated its 50th anniversary.
