University Of Tokyo Expands Contents Field Education

The University of Tokyo has launched a 'Contents Creation Education Research Core' as of April 1st. The Japanese University aims at improving student education of the contents field (anime, manga, game) member industries. This new research organization has been formed in the graduate school informatics ring, and has plans to agree on a curriculum after systematizing knowledge of the related areas. It's being assumed that Professor Hiroshi Harashima of the graduate school informatics ring will become the representative of the unit. A research period of five years will be undertaken in this persuit with a special grant provided by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology. The program is being looked upon with great optimism with some analysis in the Japanese media even saying the University may be the top school in terms of knowledge on the contents industry by the end of the study.
