Dark Horse, USA Today, & Toshiba In a New Multi-Platform Initiative
Date: 6/17/2010
Dark Horse Comics announced today that it was going to be working with USA Today and Toshiba in a new program that will showcase all-new original content from Dark Horse across a variety of media platforms.

The details of the DH:HD (Dark Horse: Hi-Def) program were left somewhat vague in the announcement (particularly in regard to Toshiba?s involvement), but Dark Horse?s first collaboration with USA Today, an exclusive, full-page preview of best-selling author Janet Evanovich?s first graphic novel, Troublemaker, debuted in the Life section of today?s paper.

In the article, which features huge graphics, Evanovich and her daughter Alex talk about their interest in the graphic novel medium. Evanovich told USA Today that ?The Barnaby books were always intended to be graphic novels. For those first two (prose) books, it just wasn?t the right time. We always saw the story as a graphic novel because of the cars, the characters, and the visually striking Miami setting.?

The article not only notes that the first of the two Troublemaker volumes will debut at the San Diego Comic-Con where Evanovich and her daughter will be on hand to sign books, it also includes the URL for a more extensive preview of the book on the USA Today Website as well as directions to Dark Horse's site.
