DC Shuts Down Zuda Comics Site Select Titles Available Through comiXology & PS Network
Date: 7/2/2010
DC Comics announced today that it is shutting down the zudacomics.com Website. However the official Zuda blog, The Collective will continue to be updated at the DC Comics site. Select Zuda comic titles will be available through both comiXology and the PlayStation Network. The first 20-page issue of a Zuda title will be free with subsequent issues selling for 99-cents each.

The first issue of Jeremy Love?s Eisner nominated series Bayou has been available for free since DC launched its digital initiative (see ?DC Goes Digital via comiXology & PlayStation?) on June 23rd. The second issue of Bayou is now available for 99-cents through both comiXology and the PlayStation Network. The first issue of High Moon by Dave Gallaher and Steve Ellis is available now with a second issue due next week.

Other Zuda titles that will be available from DC?s two digital partners include Andy Belanger?s Bottle of Awesome, Sheldon Vella?s Supertron, John Zito and Tony Trov?s Black Cherry Bombshells, and Adam Atherton?s Lily of the Valley.

Unlike Marvel, DC moved aggressively into the world of Webcomics when it set up its Zudacomics site with great fanfare in 2007 (see ?DC Plans Webcomics Site?).
