The casting of Fox?s X-Men: First Class, the re-boot of the X-Men franchise that Matthew Vaughn is directing, continued today with the announcement that Caleb Landry Jones will play Banshee in the new X-Men origins film. Jones, who appeared in No Country for Old Men and stars in David Fincher?s upcoming The Social Network, will bring the Irish

mutant Banshee, whose power is a potent ?sonic scream,? to the screen for the first time.

Other X-Men: First Class casting announcements include roles for two other fine young actors. Nicholas Hoult (A Single Man) will portray Beast, and Lucas Till who is set for the role of Havoc, Cyclops? brother. Variety maintains that the key role of Cyclops has not yet been cast, though Quint at Ain?t It Cool indicates that Aaron Johnson, who starred in Matthew Vaughn?s adaptation of Mark Millar?s Kick-Ass will get the plum assignment.

Jones, Hoult, and Till will join a cast headed by James MacAvoy, who will play the young Charles Xavier, and Michael Fassbender, who will portray Eric Lensherr (Magneto, see ?Magneto Cast?).
