Archie to Publish 'Mega Man' Comic Debuting in May

Archie Comics has announced that it will launch Mega Man #1, a new ongoing monthly comic book series based on the popular Capcom video game in May. Mega Man #1, which is being written by Ian Flynn with art by Patrick ?Spaz? Spaziante, John Workman, and Matt Herms, includes the first part of an origin type saga, ?Let the Games Begin.?

The 32-page, full color comic has a cover price of $2.99 and ships to comic shops for sale on May 4th, 2011, and to newsstands during the week of May 17th. The writer of the new Mega Man series, Ian Flynn has penned Archie?s highly successful Sonic the Hedgehog comic. Archie is also publishing a 1-in-5 sketch variant cover of Mega Man #1 by Chad Thomas.


Mega Man has been featured in a number of different manga adaptations, two of which have been published here by Viz Media and Udon. Dreamwave Productions also published a Mega Man comic book series that came to an abrupt end after only four issues.
