Tokyopop Manga Featured in USA Today

Tokyopop's newest manga-style comic, "The Adventures of CG," will be serialized in CosmoGIRL! Magazine starting this week. The comic is penned by Svetlana Chmakova, the 25 year old creator of another Tokyopop title, Dramacon. Chmakova also has a pair or online webcomics, Chasing Rainbows and Night Silver.

A portion of "The Adventures of CG" (3 frames) is featured on page 4D of today's USA Today, alongside an article about the new title, Dark Horse's Harelequin manga adaptations and Viz's Shojo Beat, which was recently launched. The USA Today article states that North American manga sales amounted to $207 million in 2004, up from 165 million in 2003. There is a lead in to the article on the first page of the USA Today Life section, featuring a drawing from "The Adventures of CG" with the caption "You Go, 'GIRL!"
