A First Glimpse of Bane From 'The Dark Knight Rises'

In the first of what promises to be many leaked photos from The Dark Knight Rises, Warner Bros. has released a shot of a bulked-up Tom Hardy as the villain Bane. There are considerable differences between the movie Bane and the character in the comics, but it appears that the movie character does have a facemask with white tubes that could be mainlining Venom, the drug that gives Bane his superhuman strength, directly into the villain?s brain.

With his genius level intellect and super strength Bane certainly makes a compelling villain for The Dark Knight Rises. Based loosely on pulp hero Doc Savage, Bane was created by Chuck Dixon, Doug Moench, and Graham Nolan, and famously broke Batman?s back in a climactic fight at the end of the Knightfall story arc that was published in 1993.
