Date: 2/7/2005
Score Entertainment, a leading manufacturer of trading card games and collectible cards, today announced that they are redesigning, and will re-release, one of the most famous TCGs of all time: the Dragon Ball Z? TCG. ?gThe return of Dragon Ball Z TCG is what the fans have been asking for,?h said Jason Taitano, director of games at SCORE. ?gThe timing of this is perfect. Dragon Ball Z returns to broadcast this Spring and there are a lot of Dragon Ball initiatives coming from other major Dragon Ball licensees in the next few months.?h
Dragon Ball Z is the most frequently requested TCG. The return of the DBZ TCG will feature original characters who combat in hard-hitting physical and energy attacks. Some original Dragon Ball Z cards will be compatible in the premier edition of the enhanced Dragon Ball Z.

In order to provide the proper focus for a release this big, Score Entertainment also announced plans to cease operations on the DBGT TCG line, including the Anthologies Saga. Fans and players will have the opportunity to participate in side events for Dragon Ball GT Expanded held at conventions throughout the 2005 season. ?gAs we continue to develop the game, we are looking for ways to include popular cards from previous releases,?h said Lead Designer and former Dragon Ball Z World Champion, Aik Tongtharodol. ?gWe are working to make Dragon Ball Z a game that exceeds fan?fs expectations of the original game.?h

In addition to the new Dragon Ball Z TCG boosters and starters, Score will release Dragon Ball Z deck boxes, sleeves, and deck box bags. Fans can play in Dragon Ball Z demo tournaments during Origins, June 30- July 3, 2005. Official Dragon Ball Z tournaments start during Comic-Con, July 14- 17, 2005. Cards previews will be available at the beginning of June, 2005 on www.dbzcardgame.com.
