Chinese Animation Industry Rising

An animation industry development symposium was held in the Chinese city of Wuhan on Saturday. There, a major initiative was announced to begin elevating China's economic and cultural position in the field on the global satge. Although Chinese animation flourished in the 1960's, it's marquee value in the world has deminished over the years, being outshined in the Asia region by efforts of Japan and South Korean and to the the west by the USA. The Chinese government is backing the move and 2005 has been named the "Domestic Animation Production Development Year". A total industry goal to produce works meeting 20,000 minutes of animation per year was set with TV animation works having the goal of 280,000 minutes a year. Efforts have bagan to synchronize the TV broadcast with production companys and copyright management.
