Hello Kitty Stump Village Merchandising Barrage Planned

Sanrio and ITOCHU have announced a new merchandising rights deal related to Hello Kitty Stump Village. C.Itoh & Co. Ltd. will develop clothing which include the Sanrio character designs. Sales of 1.5 billion Yen over three years are expected. Stump Village is a claymation work that Sanrio produced with several South Korean businesess in 2006. Several popular Sanrio character franchises appear in the show. DVD release of the 26 episode TV series is planned to start in Japan on April 25th. Seven sublicensee companies will also develop nine categories of clothing including outerwear, the underwear, bedding, towels, and gloves.
