Always, Sunset On Third Street Sequel Tidbits

The first film version of Ryohei Saigan's 1973 manga Always, Sunset on Third Street (Always--3-chome no Yuhi) drew over 3.5 billion Yen at the boxoffice during its 2005 run. A part of the set of the sequel was recently opened to the media in Japan. The stage in the new movie will be during the holding of the Tokyo Olympics and though 1959 when Japan rushed into the era of high-speed economic growth. A street scene from the era has been recreated at Toho studios stage 9 in Tokyo, its area measures 1325 square meters. The film premieres in theaters in November.
