Tokyo Anime Fair 2008 Launches Mascot Character Contest

The Tokyo Anime Fair organizers have announced an open contest for the design of next year's official mascot character. Although the contest guidelines are in Japanese, they publicly encourage submissions from all artists, regardless of nationality. The contest will run between May 1 and June 29, and the fair will award 200,000 yen (about US$1,700) to the winning entry.
