Toei's Anime Comic Phone Channel Wins MIPCOM Award

MIPCOM 2007, the annual trade show for co-producing, buying, selling, and distributing entertainment content on various platforms, has announced the winners of its Mobile and Internet Television Awards and selected Toei Animation's Anime Comic project to receive the award in the Best Made-for-Mobile TV or Film Channel category. The project retells anime episodes by placing dialogue balloons and sound effects on still frames of anime scenes to emulate manga. The other entries nominated were Atomic Wedgie, GoTV Networks, MySumo and ZapperTV. The awards are intended to recognize the growing influence of mobile and online distribution on film and video productions worldwide.
