Japanese Box Office, October 20-21: Eva Lingers at #10

The first of four Evangelion movie remakes, Evangelion: 1.0 You Are [Not] Alone, drops one spot to #10 on Kogyo Tsushinsha's top ten chart of the Japanese box office for the weekend of October 20 to 21. Three Hollywood films with A-list casts (#2's Hairspray, #3 The Good Shepherd, #4's The Invasion) entered the top ten list in this past weekend, which was Evangelion: 1.0's eighth weekend in the Japanese theaters. Box Office Mojo reports the movie's weekend box office total was the equivalent of US$225,720, which brings its cumulative total to US$14,970,323 to date. As in the previous three weekends, there was no other manga- or anime-related movie in the top ten.
