Christmas Special Announced for P?n?lope Kids' Anime

The book publisher Iwasaki Shoten has announced a new children's anime special, "P?n?lope's Christmas Party," that is based on the European P?n?lope picture books from Georg Hallensleben and Ann Gutman. The books recount the adventures of a naive three-year-old blue koala and her friends. The Japanese public broadcaster NHK-Educational will broadcast the five-minute short on December 15 and 22 at 5:40 p.m. Nippon Animation had previously animated the books' characters in the 2006 P?n?lope t?te en l'air (Ukkari P?n?lope or P?n?lope, Head in the Clouds) series of 26 five-minute episodes.
