Gantz Licensing Heats Up?

A reader has pointed out to us that, only 2 days before the biggest anime licensing event of the year, ADV Films registered the domain name Gantz-tv.com today.

Earlier this month, A legal representative of ADV Films sent out a letter to fansub websites stating "A.D. Vision, Inc. (ADV) and its affiliated companies that own and/or are exclusively licensed to use the following protected work (the "Protected Work"): ... Gantz".)

Meanwhile, Funimation owns the domain name Gantz.tv

It is common practice for companies to register domain names for properties that they are interested in acquiring, even if they don't already have the rights.
