Dark Horse Editor on Appleseed, Hellsing, 2007

New Appleseed Hypernotes, entire Shirow catalogue unflipped with new material

Beginning in October, Dark Horse will issue new and newly unflipped editions of several Masamune Shirow series. Japanese Licensing Manager Michael Gombos outlined the company's plans in a note last Friday.

Appleseed Hypernotes, a collection of short strips related to the Appleseed story, will be out in October, followed by Appleseed ID (Illustrations/Data) in December.

Unflipped re-releases:

January 2007 - Dominion
February - Dominion Conflict
March - Orion
April - Black Magic
May - Appleseed

Gombos also noted illegal scalations of new Hellsing stories were available online and suggested they were taken from Young King Ours, a monthly magazine in Japan that serializes the series. Dark Horse is waiting for the material to be available in trade paperbacks before they can release it here.
