New ?Dragonball? Action Figures Based on Live-Action Movie
Date: 2/20/2009
With Dragonball: Evolution due to arrive in theaters this spring (see ?Best in Shows: 2009, Pt. I?), Bandai is rolling out two new series of action figures modeled after the stars of the film. The figures will hit stores at about the same time the movie premieres April 8 (see ?Best in Shows 2009: Part I?).

Each of the seven four-inch Movie Action Figures (Yamcha, Roshi, Piccolo, Bulma, Fulum, and two of Goku) will come with a weapon or accessory unique to that character, as well as parts of the Oozaru (Big Monkey) and the Dragonball altar, one of seven Dragonballs, and a trading card. The seven pieces of Oozaru and the altar can each be combined, and the seven trading cards can be combined to form the Shenron Dragon.

The six-inch Fast-Action Figures come with a ripcord (with attached Dragonball) to activate the characters? special moves: Goku?s and Piccolo?s punch, or Yamcha?s kick. Bandai also plans to release a line of seven Capsule Figures in the fall. Each capsule contains part of a figure that can be collected and assembled to create a single, high-detail figure.

Dragonball: Evolution stars Justin Chatwin (War of the Worlds) as Goku, Emmy Rossum (Phantom of the Opera, The Day After Tomorrow) as Bulma, James Marsters (Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel) as Piccolo, and Chow Yun-Fat as Master Roshi (see ?Chow Yun-Fat Joins ?DragonBall? Cast?).

The film's world premiere is March 12th in Korea.
