With Houston being such a hub of anime activity with ADV Films being local (And supposedly something like nearly 30 voice actors showing up for this convention), Kamikazecon is going to seem rather ADV centric to a lot of people. Anime News Network has an article up about the ADV Films panel itself that has a lot of interesting and disturbing news depending on your point of view. ? One point that's becoming very clear across numerous studio venues in recent months is that the anime market has seriously hit a period of correction and there are retailers both in B&M and online that are no longer picking up stock anywhere near where they used to. Having heard from several online retailers myself that don't specialize in anime but carry a significant amount of it, the drop-off rate in the past year has been staggering for some of them and is likely resulting in either a lot of returns for the studios or a drop in ordering new product.
