DBZ TCG Details

Score has provided some details on its recently announced plans to re-launch the Dragon Ball Z TCG in July (see "DBZ TCG Back in July"). The set will be configured in 60-card Starter Decks ($10.99) and 10-card Booster Packs (six commons, three uncommons, and one rare for $3.29). ? The game will be drawn from Dragon Ball Z anime episodes that are just now being released on DVD for the first time (see "Previously Unreleased Dragon Ball Z DVDs"). The new game engine, which combines elements of both the Dragon Ball Z and Dragon Ball GT games, was designed by a two-year world champion of the game, Aik Tongtharadol. A number of changes have been made to play vs. the original DBZ TCG: there's a simplified turn sequence; now only one personality card of any level is needed to play (not three); allies are easy to play and use; now there's one kind of damage but two ways of taking it; and there's a simplified physical attack table. InuYasha Jaki, the next expansion for Score's Inuyasha TCG, will be released in May. The 140-card expanded set will be released in 10-card boosters at $2.99 in the slim, trim 12-pack display. The game play will follow the theme of episodes 31-50. We've also heard that Alliance was the last Yu Yu Hakusho TCG release from Score. The game is being ended, as the anime series was. Score will continue organized play and other support for the game. |
