'Kick-Ass' to Open SXSW In March

Matthew Vaughn?s Kick-Ass, based on the comic by Mark Millar, will open SXSW Film 2010, the film festival component of South by SouthWest. The film festival runs March 12-20; the movie is scheduled to open April 16th (see ?Kick-Ass Director Does It in Camera?).



South by Southwest, the 10-day music, film, and interactive festival held in Austin each spring, drew nearly 150,000 attendees in 2009.



Kick-Ass, financed with money raised by Vaughn, was picked up by Lionsgate after a successful preview at San Diego Comic-Con.
