Satsuki And May's House At Center Of Tug O War

Following an internet auction ticket scalping row, the future of the embattled real life replica of Satsuki and May's House featured in My Neigbor Totoro has had some major developments in recent months. Currently one of the centerpieces of Nagoya's Aichi Expo 2005, it's been suggested by Studio Ghibli's Toshio Suzuki that following the event a permanent location will be decided on to build the house on once again. It's surfaced in the Japanese press recently that several municipalities are currently offering to host the home after Expo. These are Gifu Prefecture, Mitaka City, Higashimurayama City, Tokorozawa City, Gifu Prefecture Kamiishizu-cho, Yamanashi City, Toyota City and Mie Prefecture Kuwana City. The Chunichi Newspaper on May 24 even reported that Aichi Prefecture may soon sure also raise it's hand to be a host. Currently the true future destination remains up in the air.
