Controversial Picture Book Returns to Japan

This LA Times article take a look at the Japanese edition of "Little Black Sambo," a picture book that was extremely popular in Japan when it was released in 1953, until it was banned for being racist against Black Americans in 1988. Recently a Japanese publisher has re-introduced the book and has sold 95,000 copies to nostalgic adults. Thanks to Daniel Zelter for this item.
