Elijah Wood to Appear in 'The Hobbit' As Frodo

It looks like Elijah Wood will reprise his role as Frodo from the Lord of the Rings trilogy in The Hobbit films, according to Hollywood Reporter. That?s a bit of a surprise, since Frodo doesn?t appear in Tolkien?s The Hobbit, but rumor has it he may appear in framing sequences.

With financing set (see ?Warners Will Distribute ?The Hobbit??), the films will start shooting in February, with release scheduled for December 2012 and December 2013.
