Viz Expands iPad App to iPhone & iPod Touch

Viz Media has announced the release of a Viz Manga app for the iPhone and iPod Touch. Viz launched its proprietary iPad manga app last November and currently has over 200 volumes of manga available. Now those titles are available for other iOS devices including the iPhone and the iPad Touch. The Viz Manga app is free at Apple?s App Store and the first chapters of several of the Viz Media Manga titles are available to download for free.

In addition Viz Media has a sale on the first volumes of all of its manga series available through the Viz Media manga app. The initial volumes in all the series will be available for just $2.99 versus the regular per volume price of $4.99 in this special promotion, which is good through midnight (PST) May 9th.


House of Blue Leaves
The Viz Manga app for the iPhone appears to be identical with its iPad app. Viewers have to navigate through the panels (there does not appear to be a panel-to-panel feature, at least yet). Customers who purchase Viz Manga for one iOS device will be able to port them across all their compatible Apple devices.

In addition to its popular Shonen Jump and Shojo Beat titles, Viz Media has now released two excellent titles from its sophisticated Viz Signature imprint, The House of Five Leaves and not simple by Natsume Ono.
