Manga Nominated for ALA Lists

New American Library Association List for Graphic Novels

Several manga and OEL worldmanga have been nominated for the American Library Association's (ALA) "Great Graphic Novels" list.

The list is expected to be released at the ALA?s Midwinter Meeting in 2007, this is a new list for the ALA. ALA lists are used by libraries throughout the United States as aids in selecting material for their collections.

A committee of 11 YALSA members, both school and public librarians, will select the graphic novels that appear on the list. Graphic novels will be judged on a number of categories related to appropriateness and quality.
