Date: 2/25/2006
At the New York Comic-Con, Toon Zone News spoke to Adam Sheehan of FUNimation Entertainment about their upcoming releases. Rumbling Hearts was announced last week, presenting a dating sim as an anime series. Desert Punk, coming on February 28, is the first of their "big gonzo" anime TV shows, which will be followed afterwards by Speed Grapher in July, Basilisk in August, and Trinity Blood in September.

Some more all-age appropriate faire will be found in the Dragonball Z movie which will receive a limited nationwide release later this year. It will be part of an effort to do a limited release of films nationwide once a month.

On the TV front, the FUNimation Channel will be going live on satellite TV soon, with a 3-4 year plan to grow as aggressively as possible. Samurai 7 will also be airing on the Independent Film Channel in April, and possibly on other channels as well.

FUNimation also promised an announcement about 2 newly acquired shows in the next few weeks, with some "really big stuff" by spring.
