Ikkitousen: Dragon Destiny Trailer Stirs Controversy
Date: 1/4/2007
The content of a new video trailer (we won't link it here but check your favorite video site) for the forthcoming Ikkitousen: Dragon Destiny TV series is generating alot of attention online in Japan. The uncensored clip features a great deal of nudity. Yuji Shiozaki's original storyline drew a considerable fan following among Japanese otaku for featuring character likenesses of more mainstream anime characters. After spawning a 2003 animation and subsequent scantily clad action figures, a firestorm of controversy was ignited among Chinese critics who lambasted the work for its parody of Romance Of The Three Kingdoms novel. This new work takes the Ecchi, Martial Arts, Bishojo storyline to a whole new level. A censored version preview screened at the production company's Comiket booth this past weekend. Due to Japanese TV regulations, a preseumably edited version will broadcast via Chiba television and other terestrial affiliates upon the debut in April. The full uncensored version may telecast via ATX and will certainly be present on the eventual DVD release.
