Nissan Launches Record Label

We've all seen those car commercials sampling various classic top 40 hit tunes. The auto firm marketing divisions usually sift through catalogs of material to find songs that match the style of the vehicle or vehicle line they want to promote. Royalties paid to artists from the usage can mean big bucks. Now Nissan is turning the tables. In an auto industry first, Japanese Nissan Motor has joined forces with Warner Music Japan to start the new recording label 'CUBE LOVES MUSIC'. Nissan wants to take the idea of cars in their model lineup appealing to various lifestyles of consumers and connect it to music that they produce. The first release under the label is ayaka x KOBUKURO's new single "WINDING ROAD". It will be featured as the theme of the television commercial pitching the latest rendition of Nissan's Cube compact van.
