Independent Yakuza Shorts Hit YouTube

893239 is series of 23 short (4-18 minutes in length) live action films themed around Yakuza and set in the 23 districts of Tokyo. Jingumae Produce developed the project over 2 years using creators from multiple independent genres. The featurettes have been freely released to the web via YouTube until February 14th. According to the studio, they just wanted people to see them. The clips have logged over 100,000 hits since being uploaded on November 27th. Afterwards they will be compiled for a DVD release and subtitled in English for international film festival exhibition.
