Baltimore Group Pegs Otakon's Impact at US$21 Million

According to Nancy Hinds, vice president of public affairs for the Baltimore Area Convention and Visitors Association, attendees of this year's Otakon spent an estimated US$21 million while attending the event this past weekend at Baltimore. She cited this figure in a television news report on the convention, which can be seen in full on the WJZ 13 television station's website. In 2008, the Baltimore Convention Center will once again host Otakon during the weekend of August 8-10.
