Prince of Tennis Adapted as Live-Action Drama in China

The Nikkan Sports newspaper reports that The Prince of Tennis manga will be made into a live-action drama in China. According to an announcement made in Shanghai, shooting will start in October for a planned broadcast around June of next year in China. Since that is just before the start of the 2008 Olympics in Beijing, the drama's ratings is expected to get a boost. The cast has been selected by a reality television program; auditions have included audience participation via the Internet and other means. China aired the animated version of The Prince of Tennis last summer. Thanks, Larissa Jenkins.
