First Look at the 'Iron Man Statue' From Kotobukiya

Kotobukiya has released photos of the first statue in its Marvel Studios line, a 1/6th scale figure of Iron Man from the new film starring Robert Downey Jr. and debuts on May 2nd. The 13-inch figure, which will be available in November and should retail for around $175, was inspired by the first promotional poster for the film. Sculpted by Kouei Matsumoto, the figure has been fabricated from cold cast porcelain and coated with metallic paint creating a superior rendering of the armored suit crafted by Stan Winston Studios and based on designs by Marvel artist Adi Granov.


The Iron Man Fine Art Statue features multiple LED lights placed in a variety of spots including eyes, palms (Repulsor Rays), and chest (Unibeam). The figure?s base is ornamented with a sculpted Iron Man film logo superimposed on a on a three-dimensional realization of the Iron Man chest symbol, and painted in the Mark I color scheme. Each statue is individually numbered on the base as part of a Limited Edition.
