Hi Hi Puffy AmiYumi To Broadcast In Japan

Cartoon Network's American produced Hi Hi Puffy AmiYumi animated television series will broadcast in Japan regularly on SKYPercTV from this November. The announcement was made on Saturday. The series focuses on the real life J-Pop duo Puffy AmiYumi and has aired in the USA since November 2004. An early screening will take place at the Tokyo Anime Fair next month. The Japanese press are calling this a "reimport". Audience ratings for the show in America were with children 2-11 years old (3.9%), and 6-11 years old (4.9%). An early Japanese broadcast will occur via pay-per-view of the first 8 episodes from April 3. A surprising move to some, voice actresses other than the title artists will do the Japanese dub. The April broadcast will air in the original English with Japanese substitutes.
